This case report describes a 53-year-old male patient who sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in April 2023 after being struck by an illegally parked vehicle while avoiding a bus, resulting in an immediate loss of consciousness. Following stabilization, the patient returned home to undergo rehabilitation. Despite conventional therapy, he experienced persistent left lower limb hypertonia, edema, and emotional depression. On July 31, 2024, the patient initiated a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)-based home care program under an integrated medical care plan. Over the course of eight sessions, acupuncture and TCM manual therapy were applied, resulting in improved left lower limb tone, reduced edema, and enhanced mobility. The patient progressed to using a walker for indoor activities. This case highlights the potential of TCM in home-based care for improving limb tone, edema, mobility, and overall quality of life in patients with TBI, demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of incorporating TCM into integrated home care programs.
