Jiao Jiang Decoction is an important gynecological prescription from chapter XXII, Miscellaneous Gynecological Diseases of the《Synopsis of the Golden Chamber》. However, the original text only describes the symptoms "For women with leaky continuous dark vaginal bleeding, Jiao Jiang Decoction is the main remedy." There is no record of the composition of the prescriptions. Commentators of the past dynasties also have different opinions on this provision. Therefore, we collected a total of 32 annotated volumes of Synopsis of the Golden Chamber through hard and online electronic copies. We analyzed whether the annotated editions recorded the composition of the Jiao Jiang Decoction, which of the most common components of the Jiao Jiang Decoction were recorded, the most common preparation form of "ginger" in Jiao Jiang Decoction, the application pathogenesis of Jiao Jiang Decoction, the syndrome analysis of Jiao Jiang Decoction, and the effects of single herbs in Jiao Jiang Decoction. The research found that " ass-hide gelatin + ginger" is the most common form of gelatin and ginger soup, and "dried ginger" is the most common preparation type. According to the analysis of the clinical application of Jiao Jiang Decoction by annotators in the past dynasties, it can be seen that Jiao Jiang Decoction is suitable for gynecological uterine bleeding disorders of cold, stasis and blood-deficiency patterns.
