【Summary】
Triangular fibrocartilage complex injury is a common cause of wrist pain, and it is frequently enered in the outpatient clinic of traditional Chinese medicine. Common clinical symptoms include pain, soreness, and reduced grip strength on the ulnar side of the wrist. Although it is common in clinics, it’s often misdiagnosed and mistreated because it cannot be diagnosed early. After a long period of treatment without improvement, many patients were diagnosed with triangular fibrocartilage complex injury. Resulting in those patients with chronic
wrist pain, limited range of motion of the wrist, and decreased grip strength. Therefore, for patients with triangular fibrocartilage complex injury, how to diagnose early and treat them in time is very important.
This case is a 42-yesr-old female patient with pain in her left ulnar wrist due to trauma. After the fracture of the wrist was ruled out by the orthopedic department of Western medicine, she came to the traditional Chinese medicine department for help. Under the continuous combined treatment of manual therapy and acupuncture for two months, the wrist pain improved significantly and the range of motion of the wrist returned to normal. This case provides a reference for clinical treatment of triangular fibrocartilage complex injury in traditional Chinese medicine.
